ARRIS Selected For Military Research
Study Aims To Enhance Performance: Findings Expected To Influence Future Military Boot Design.
Funded by the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research Center (NATICK) and DEVCOM through the UML HEROES program, this study—conducted with the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Kinesiology and Nutrition—aims to enhance military boot design. Findings expected in 2025 may shape future boots to improve soldier performance and reduce musculoskeletal injury risks.
ARRIS has developed high-performance composites across industries, including a partnership with DEVCOM GVSC on lightweight military vehicle seats. Leveraging expertise from designing carbon fiber plates for Brooks’ Hyperion Elite 4 running shoe, ARRIS is now engineering carbon fiber insoles to improve movement, reduce fatigue, and minimize injury in military boots, particularly in hot-weather conditions.
